Aircraft Rescue Training Center

Amarillo's 2023–2028 capital plan programs $4,180,000.00 for this project over five years, of which $4,180,000.00 is in the funded first year.

The current AFD aircraft trainer no longer meets the criteria for annual live-fire recertification requiring personnel to travel to receive certification. This project replaces the aircraft burn area and simulated aircraft prop to comply with modern FAA training standards.
