Ground broken on the downtown Embassy Suites convention hotel
NewcrestImage broke ground on a 226-room, six-story Embassy Suites across from the Amarillo Civic Center. Public partners were the City of Amarillo, the LGC and the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone; private partners included Panhandle Development and SouthWest Bank as primary lender. The city was to build a 750-space garage adjacent.[1]
